Flat Feet

Noticing your feet tire quickly or ache after standing? Feeling pain along the inner arch or heel that makes everyday activities uncomfortable?

The Basics of Flat Feet

Flat feet, also known as fallen arches, is a condition where the arch of the foot collapses, causing the entire sole to make contact with the ground. This affects the alignment of the feet and can place additional stress on the ankles, knees, and lower back.

It can be present from birth or develop over time due to injury, aging, or prolonged strain, often causing fatigue, pain, and difficulty with prolonged standing or physical activity.

Common Causes of Flat Feet

Flat feet can develop from a variety of genetic, structural, and lifestyle factors.
Some people are born with flat feet or never develop a proper arch during childhood. In others, the arch gradually collapses due to aging, obesity, pregnancy, or repetitive stress from activities like running or prolonged standing. Conditions such as tendon injuries or rheumatoid arthritis can also contribute.
Addressing these factors early can help manage discomfort and prevent further complications.
